JC Penney’s new ad for Father’s Day
The text reads:
“First Pals: What makes Dad so cool? He’s the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver—all rolled into one. Or two.” The text at the bottom reads: “Real-life dads, Todd Koch and Cooper Smith with their children Claire and Mason.”

This so called “war on women” is not just a war on cis women. It’s a war on anyone who needs access to safe, affordable, and accessible healthcare. If we want to make any real progress, we need to stop ignoring and erasing the experiences of trans*, genderqueer, intersex, and other nonbinary people.

A comic Zak made about how to explain top surgery scars without outing yourself.
LOL
I am going to say I am a time lord and that I had heart surgery on both my hearts.

Anonymous asked: How old are the members of staff?

Noah - 24
Tyler - 22
Ira - 22
Alexa - 20
Rowan - The baby… 19
Anon, you are not the first person to ask me why I’m on TSMM staff. If you feel more comfortable taking advice from someone who is not cisgender, that’s what the guys on the staff are there for! I am here for anyone who wants a different perspective. Even though I am not technically part of the LGBT spectrum, I am a huge ally and activist. Just because I happened to be born in the right body doesn’t mean I can’t fight for the equal rights of all people. As Alicia said, I am also here for the partners of Trans* people, as they often need as much support as their Trans* significant others. I am very proud of the work I have done for and with TSMM and I hope you can see I am working toward the same goals as the rest of the Trans* community. Thank you so much to everyone who wrote in to the tumblr about me, it’s really nice to know that I have people supporting me and my work for TSMM!
tinosauce asked: I don't understand the whole furor over the fact that there's a cis woman on the staff. I think it's important to include allies in all efforts. Also, it's not like the entire staff is cis people. Education isn't a members-only club, and being upset over a minority of staff members isn't being inclusive.
Also a very good point!
somegirlsweremeanttobeboys asked: I just love that cartoon man for your site. Can you make some t-shirts out of it? Or posters? I'd like to buy :)
That would be super cool! I’ll look into that now :)
insidefinallyout asked: Just wanted to toss in my own angle on this. Alexa is a true asset to TSMM. I'm a transman and I honestly wouldn't want it any other way than to have TSMM be a mix of lifestyles and opinions. My wife is a cisgender woman, and as much as I could explain how it feels to be me, I know that her being able to relate to that is limited. However, it helps round out her feelings and validate them when relating to Alexa. The trans*community is more than transitioning, it's about love and relationships.
^ Absolutely!
Thank you for your angle :) Also, really clever URL
knowhomo asked: I tip my hat to your site and to Alexa. I believe that we are only as strong a voice as the chorus we sing with. It is a bit heart wrenching to think that people would compare Alexa's story and claim that it was not "Trans* enough." I find this happens often with allies. People have to justify why their voice is valid and worthy of being in the front lines with everyone else. Thank you Alexa and TSMM for supplying a safe space for real questions and representation. Keep On, Keeping On! -Rebecca
That ‘trans enough’ bit was a point I hadn’t thought of, thank you very much Rebecca!
Anonymous asked: I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the work Alexa is doing to help the Transgender community! I can see where that other anon is coming from with their questions but what makes SMM awesome is that they don't discriminatemy cis friend used Jason's shaving video to help him learn how to shave! Keep it up guys! (and girl ;-) )
Thank you! :D
